Philip Romney - Founder
Philip Romney grew up in Twin Falls, Idaho, and began playing disc golf at age 9. His first tournament was in 2014, where he lost in a playoff for the win. That ignited his competitive flame, and he never stopped playing! In high school, Philip built a course for his scouting Eagle Project at Niagara Springs State Park. Since graduating, he has also competed semi-professionally nationwide.
Philip served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 2022 to 2024 in eastern Canada. Since his return, he has worked on projects ranging from city parks to multi-course complexes. With a reputation for challenging designs, he knows how to find the fairways and bring out the best in each property.
Why should I build a disc golf course?
Installing a disc golf course in your community is an affordable way to increase outdoor recreation, exercise, and community engagement. Disc golf is easy to learn, low-cost to play, and accessible to people of all ages and skill levels. A course can be added to your existing parks and open spaces with minimal environmental impact while encouraging more consistent and healthy outdoor activity for your residents.
On average, a single round provides about 3,800 steps, 400 calories burned, and more than 90 minutes outdoors. According to the UDisc 2026 Disc Golf Growth Report, more than 21 million rounds of disc golf were recorded in 2025, and participation has grown by over 80% since 2020. By installing a quality disc golf course, your community can create a long-term recreational asset that attracts visitors, supports local businesses, and gives residents a unique way to enjoy life!
