The Arena
The Arena was the first of its kind in Utah. In 2023, the city of West Jordan determined to develop a 50-acre plot of sagebrush into a public park. In 2024, the city was awarded an LWCF grant, where their budget of $200,000 was matched to total $400,000 in funding. The project was put out to a public bid for local contractors to take on. In December of 2024, I partnered with JDS Construction and ElevateUT Disc Golf to present a plan and win the bid. Installation began in April 2025, and the course officially opened 4 months later in August.
The Arena is the longest disc golf course in Utah. Situated in a large arena-like ravine, the course hosts hundreds of feet in elevation changes, with long downhill bombs and some big uphill ones too. There are three layouts: Golds, Blues, and Reds. Golds are championship-level difficulty, while Reds are very family-friendly. Every teepad boasts a beautiful view of the Wasatch Front, the Kennecott Copper Mine, and the Oquirrh Mountains.
